Phone in handAssembly Bill 1250 -- a serious threat to nonprofit-government contracting -- is still alive, and we need your help to stop it.

AB 1250 is now in the Senate Rules Committee. It has been amended, but the proposed amendments would not remove our serious concerns about the bill. You can check here to see the text of the bill.

If the bill is released from the Senate Rules Committee, it would then have to come up for a vote on both the Senate and Assembly floors by September 15th.

We have less than 2 weeks to stop AB 1250 from being passed by the legislature.

Please call your state senator and assemblymember TODAY (9/7) OR TOMORROW (9/8) and tell them that you oppose AB 1250
You can look up their telephone numbers here.

1. Tell them that as an organization serving vulnerable Californians in their district you are making a direct plea that they vote “no” on AB 1250.

2. Let them know that you are joined by more than 300 nonprofit leaders from across California who oppose AB 1250.

Emails are also helpful, but phone calls have the most impact. Let's show our legislators the power of the nonprofit sector!
